BBC Rocker Arm Ratios
Generally speaking if someone is switching from 1.7 ratio to 1.8 or 1.85 on a BBC does the pushrod length change as well? I currently run 1.7 ratio on a solid roller and would like to try 1.8 in lieu of changing cams. Are there other downsides to running a higher ratio rocker? What brand are you guys using? Thanks.

You must check for proper clearancing at the retainer and also piston to valve clearance. This upgrade will give you more lift at the valve.
So yes it is possible you might need a different push rod,you just have to make sure you have good geometry from the rocker arm and valve,so to speak
Here is a little bit of info for you
