In homage to the legendary Kurtis Kraft Midget Sprint Car, this vehicle finds its origins in the heart of Indianapolis, where it was meticulously crafted.
A renowned craftsman bearing the esteemed surname "Van" hails from the vibrant city of Indianapolis, serving as the mastermind behind this creation. Revered for his adeptness in restoring and enhancing Kurtis Craft vehicles, he embarked on a mission not only to meticulously repair these classics but also to forge new replicas at a no longer existing shop address somewhere in Indianapolis, IN.
Original owner and Driver - Billy Hughes ran in the ARDC - Three (3) Consecutive Year Driver Champion - 1988 thru 1990
Second owner - Bob Abernathy - he ran in a group in the SMRC
The owner we bought this remarkable vehicle from, George Giesen (third owner), held the esteemed position of Chief Race Mechanic for Jim Kimberly of Kimberly-Clark. George, a revered figure in the Midwest racing community, left an indelible mark with his lightning-fast Datsun 240 and 260 Z-cars. Sadly, he departed from our midst in October of 2021, leaving behind a legacy of speed and passion.
