My Uncle runs the FRAM racing filters in his stoick car with no issue.I have told him about all the negative stuff on the internet about FRAM and he says he has ran them since the 70's without any problem...I will point out he runs 2 filters on a remote thingamajigger though. Since a Fram filter costs about the same as a WIX I would run the WIX(CARQUEST OR NAPA ARE WIX) just to be safe.

I always run a remote oil filter.
Just caught an episode on "How its Made"
I could be wrong, but I could have swore the show mentioned most oil filters are made from the same plant, just different specification from brand to brand.
Puralator, fram, napa, K&N I have used them all. No problems.
I have a history of keeping my truck untill I have 300,000 miles on it..
Change the oil and air filter frequently and you can do it to

Fram, uh huh. I dont care if it's a double HP super duper mega filter, run one at your own risk I say. Too many bad things have happened to folks running their junk.
Not all filters are created equally and NO not just one company makes them all.
Purolator makes a dam good one, they'v been making them since they were invented, by them.
Hence the name > pure - oil - later
I use their pure one on my BBC and never had any issues, cut one open and you can see their quality.
Wix and or napa filters are good ones too.

cant pay me enough to put a fram filter on any of my performance vehicles, even though i must admit i occasionally use them on my regular vehicles, i admit the no slip ends on the filters are nice to use,but id rater save a few cents and get the walmart cheapies for my regular cars and use wix filters on my performance stuff
