chassis cert?
hay guy whats invalved in chassis certfication ? how much leeway can you have? how long will it last? thank you for your time. :D

Typically it involves tubing placement, tubing diameter, and tubing thickness. As far as leeway "NONE" either it's right or it's wrong and a chassis inspecter will not be bashful about telling you. Now going through tech is a little different, sometimes if something is wrong (depending on whats wrong) they will allow you to race but get it resolved before racing again. The chassis certs. are good for 3 years.

cool thank u sir, had another qestion i been welding for some time now i had a few welds get contaminated "wind blew a way my sheildin gas'' i ground it down and repared it. lol looks like $hit. wondering how they grade welds? thank you for your time.

Usually if the welds have no pin holes and have good penetration into the tubing ( NOT A COLD WELD) they should be OK. JMO

Hey guys, don't want to hijack the thread but I my Opel has a 8.50 IHRA cert on it right now and was told all I needed to make it a 7.50 cert was the two bars behind the seat that goes down to the floor. Does anyone know what size of piping this should be. I am using mild steel and did not know if it had to 1" 5/8 or not. Thanks in advance for the help and or advice.

Mild steel tubing has to be 1 5/8" .118 wall thickness if it is the bars I'm thinking your talking about.
