Bias-ply tires GOOD OR BAD ?????
 

Hey i have a 80 malibu with 14" cragar sst's and was looking for a good sticky tire i could drive on the street and to the track , I found some bias ply through summit and was wondering what the difference was from a radial ? Is there no steel belts in it? Also i thought i once read somewhere not to mix the 2 on a car , i will still be running radials on the front. Some day i will have some money for new rims but in the mean time i need to figure something out ! this is the link !

I used to run M &H Race masters on my street car. When you run bias ply tires on the rear with radials on the front, sometimes it will feel a little weird when the tires are cold...mine did...sorta [wander around on the road a little bit.

Summit also sales some Drag Radial Tires that work well on street & strip. I think you'll be alot happier with them.

I wouldn't mix bias and radials. Accident waiting to happen.

It's not that bad.....usually only when they are cold.

The hard part is trying to find a 14" decent sized tire !

I remember when all I could afford to run was nylon tires on my street car. When it was cold, it took 4 or 5 miles to get them round. It would jar your teeth out!
But, what a burnout you could do!!!! Dave
