1998 Dodge 1500 exhaust
Hi I have a 1998 Dodge 1500 4x4 sport with a 5.7L engine. I want to put a dual exhust on it but have been told that there is a diode block of some sort on the 2nd o2 sensor. I have been told the truck will not run properly without it. Is this true? Been told that we have to cut open the cat and empty it as well. Is this true?? Can the diode block be bypassed and the cat removed? PLEASE Advise!! Thanks for your time!!!

Not real sure about the diode block, but I'm bet a phone call to a local compitent muffler shop should know the low down.
Most will just double up after the cats anyway, kinda makes it legal. I have had a single inlet, double out flowmaster on my 96 Z71 and it worked and sounded great. Charlles |
DuelExhaust
The way we do it at work is We install a Flowmaster or Cherry Bomb
muffler and then 2 outlet pipes for the 2 tail pipes it sounds so good after. |
I have a single inlet/dual outlet Flowmaster 40 Series on my 99 Dodge ram, its cheaper, and i think it sounds better. They also have the new Super 44 flowmaster out now that would sound even better. Running true dual exhaust isnt morth the expense unless you have a blower.

We do our Exhaust this way because we have Emissions to wory about.
